International Relations

For the last five years LNAU has been taking an active part  in the following EC “TEMPUS” programs.

2005 – “The network of special regional centers for the Ukrainian higher schools teachers of English”. Our main partners  here were the Independent University of Berlin (Germany) and Rzeszow University (Poland). Three lecturers of the Department of Foreign Languages took advanced training in the universities of Poland and Germany to learn advanced methods of lecturing English based on the European Framing program. Implementation of the given program in our University resulted in the foundation of language laboratory for teaching English equipped with advanced technical means and original manuals at the Department of Foreign Languages.

2006-2007. Our University participated in the project “All-Ukrainian network of regional consulting  centers of  ECTS”.

2007. We took part in the project “Development of the strategy of international mobility of students with the opportunities of European credit and transfer system”. The basic objective of the named above projects was to learn the mechanisms of European credit and transfer system in Germany and Denmark. Within these programs 2 weeks training for lecturers was initiated in the Universities of Dresden (Gemany) and Roskilde (Denmark). During the final phase of the project the 7 days seminar was held to highlight the packet of factors and documents securing the international mobility of students (credit system, information packet, list of the subjects or academic sertificate, academic contract, University diploma appendix,  mobility logistics, etc). Within the given above project a manual  “ Possibilities of credit and module system securing the international mobility of Ukrainian students” was released.

2007-2008. The University was included into the project “ The educational courses on Bologna  process in Ukraine ” aimed at the reforms in Ukrainian higher education to bring our scientific degrees closer to the European standards and to introduce the corresponding qualification framing in our University. The given program provoked the discussion of educational needs of Ukrainian Universities (our partners), introduction of distance education, etc. Our main European partners here were Warsaw University of Life Sciences (Poland ) , Gent University (Belgium) and some independent experts from the European committee.

 

2007. – 2 year TEMPUS project “Implementation of fundamental and advanced scientific methods in graduate and post-graduate curricula of Agrarian specialization”. The aim of such project was to introduce  the subject of academic writing into the curricula of masters candidates as well as distant education in the Universities. Within this project 6 master’s candidates were trained during the autumn term in the University of Gent (Belgium) and the Gumboldt  University of Germany; 2 lecturers of the Faculty of Agrotechnologies  and Ecology and 1 lecturer of Economic Faculty had 1 month training in the named above Universities. Each Faculty of the University sent its two lecturers supervising the educational work there to take part in the 7 days training seminar on the introduction of “MOODLE” system into the educational process. LNAU held 2 days training seminar on academic writing and  distance education for post-graduates and doctoral candidates.

Lviv National Agrarian University participates in two projects of the European Council “TEMPUS -4”. The first of them is called “Development of curricula on the qualification «Environmental Protection» in Agrarian universities”.

Both projects forsee training of the University’s lecturers in European educational institutions, curricula modernization and introduction  of fresh subjects, publication of manuals, modernization of laboratories, foundation of data base, etc.

The University signed the agreements on cooperation with federal state higher vocational educational institution “Omsk State Agrarian University” (Russia) , Jan Grodka State Higher Vocational School of Sanok (Poland), Belarus State Agricultural Academy (Poland), Glodno State Agrarian University, St Ishtwan University (Hungary), Faculty of Agriculture of Novi Sad University (Serbia), Institute of Physiology and Animal Feeding of Jan Kelanowski Polish Academy of Sciences in Jablonna (Poland), Al Abbas Syria University (Syria), Rzeszow University (Poland), Faculty of Agriculture of Perudza University (Italiy), Institute of Fertilizing and Soil Science in Pulava (Poland), Agricultural Academy in Szczecin (Poland), Welkopolski centre of agricultural consulting in Poznan (Poland), Agricultural Faculty of Strosmajor University of Osijek (Croatia), State University of Iowa (USA), University of Pennsylvania (USA), Naturalistic Universities of Wroclaw, Poznan, Ljublin (Poland), Warshaw University of Naturalistic Sciences (Poland), Krakow Agricultural University (Poland), Higher State Vocational School of Tarnobrzeg (Poland), Higher Engineering and Economic School of  Rzeszow (Poland), Krakow Institute of Agrophysics of Polish Academy of Sciences (Poland), Nizhnii Novgorod State University of Architecture and Building (Russia).

The University continues to cooperate with Pennsilvania State University. Our young lecturers were involved into the program of the lecturers exchange  initiated by the US Department of Agriculture. The University also participates in the program of academic exchanges “Fullbright” (USA).

Due to the contracts with some international institutions about 300 of our students got the chance to have the practical training at the best European ventures and farms: associations “Ukraine-France” (France), “Friendship without borders” (France), ecologically protected farms “LOGO” (Germany) and some farmsteads of Denmark, Poland and Great Britain.

According to our contract on the students exchange with Krakow Agrarian University of both Universities can have 1 or 2 terms training in the University-partner.
