The Tempus project LAGOS

The Tempus Projects are aimed at development and introduction of study programs in accordance with requirements of Bologna Agreement as well creation of educational centers on the basis of  modern technologies. Their aim is to  facilitate pedagogical interactivity, to modernize the system of higher education,  including land governance studies and ecological programs, encourage interrelations of university education and business companies, ensure the quality of academic governance, etc.

On April 11-13, 2011 the Information Session was held at Lviv National Agrarian University in accordance with the Tempus project LAGOS “Land Governance in Ukraine and Macedonia”. The representatives of Royal Institute of  Technology (Sweden), Aalto University (Finland), Krakow Agricultural University (Poland), Sts.Cyril and Methodius University (Republic of Macedonia) took part in the meeting. Four universities from Ukraine presented our country. Those were Lviv National Agrarian University, Kiev National University of Construction and Architecture, Donetsk National Technical University and Kharkiv National Agrarian University.

 

During the Info-Session the round table discussion was organized with the rector of the university Professor Volodymyr Snitynskyy. During the meeting with the rector the focus of the discussion was made on the importance of the project for the development and introduction of new study programs at LNAU  as well as strengthening relations between the educational institutions and practical training in the field of land resources management.

The following topics were presented and discussed at the session: educational and methodology bases for training students at LNAU (prof.S.Onysko, prof.O.Krupych),  implementation of international projects (O.Ishchenko), training of students at Land Surveying faculty  (prof. M.Stupen).

The challenges for land governance studies in Ukraine and Macedonia were presented by Prof. V.Gjorgiev (Macedonia) and Prof. O.Petrakovska (Ukraine). Prof. K.Gavronski and prof.J.Hernik from  Krakow Agricultural University  spoke on the methodology for the development of rural territories on the regional level. Training of students in land governance programs at Aalto university was presented by K.Niukkanen (Finland).

The special emphasis while  carrying out Tempus projects has always been put to the collaboration  between  the university and business community. For this purpose the participants of the info-session met with a director of the Center of Market Research V.Lyubchyk who made presentation on the main characteristics of land governance issues in Ukraine. The problems of land acquisition in Ukraine, state control of land protection and mechanisms of purchase and sale of land plots generated the greatest interest with the participants of the meeting.
