Faculty of Agrotechnologies and Ecology was established in1856, in the year of the University foundation. Nowadays the Faculty is the only center of higher agrarian education in the Western Ukraine. Nearly 14 thousand students graduated from the Faculty and became highly qualified specialists, famous scientists, academicians, and professors, manager of agriculture, politicians and statesmen.

90 teachers of high qualification provide education at the Faculty, among them 14 Doctors of Sciences (PhD), professors, 68 Candidates of Sciences (PhD), assistant professors. “Golden Fund” of the Faculty is made by such famous personalities as academician of UAAS, academician of Academy of Higher Education of Ukraine, Doctor of Biology (PhD), professor V.V.Snitynskyi; academician of Academy of Higher Education of Ukraine, Doctor of Agriculture (PhD), professor Z.M.Tomashivskyy; academician of Academy of Higher Education of Ukraine, Doctor of Agriculture (PhD), professor V.H.Vlokh; Doctor of Agriculture (PhD), professor V.V.Lykhochvor; Doctor of Agriculture (PhD), professor I.I.Tymoshenko; Doctor of Biology (PhD), professor S.O.Vovk; academician of Academy of Higher Education of Ukraine, Doctor of Agriculture (PhD), professor I.A.Shuvar; experienced assistant professors L.P.Lishchak, I.S.Hrytsyk, V.I.Hulko, H.O.Kosylovych, H.S.Stefanyuk, M.M.Vyslobodska, M.I.Bomba, O.M.Kokhanets, N.Ye.Panas, Ye.V.Fedevych, S.V.Dubkovetskyy, R.S.Dobrovolskyy, H.T.Perih, V.S.Borysyuk, B.I.Binert, V.I.Lopushnyak, I.M.Parkhuts, V.B.Danylyuk, P.R.Khirivskyy, B.B.Kruzhel, R.A.Nakonechnyy, M.V.Adamchuk, B.P.Krachkovskyy and others.

The Faculty provides laboratories, reading hall, methodic rooms and computer room for students’ work. In their education students can use Internet in the computer room and hostel №6, where most of students live. Our students also carry scientific and research work at the Departments of the Faculty.

Students of the Faculty have possibility to get second higher economic or engineering education, practice at the best farms of Ukraine and foreign countries, improve their knowledge of foreign language, get driving license and attend course of computer programming.

One third of educational process is devoted to practical classes. Practice is done on experimental fields, scientific and production division of state and private enterprises, extension center of Lviv NAU. Our best students have practice abroad, i.e. Germany, USA, France, England, Czech  Republic, Poland, Belgium, Denmark, etc.

204 specialists of high qualification graduated from the Faculty in 2009-2010, among them 116 specialists of Bachelor degree, 38 – Specialists degree and 50 – Master degree.
