Department of Management of Projects and Industrial Safety

History

The Department of Management of Projects and Industrial Safety was founded in 1977 and was then called the Department of Safety of Labor and Industrial Training. Resources and facilities of the Department (lecture rooms and labs, special room for Labor Safety lessons equipped with technical tools) were initiated at that time. To secure the industrial education the Department has the fleet of training machinery and polygon which help to train the “B” and “C” categories vehicles drivers, tractor drivers and operators.

The year 2000 marked the new stage in the Departments life. It was renamed  the Department of  Management of Projects and Industrial Safety. It also began to perform the new functions in improving agricultural mechanic engineers education (teaching them to manage the production and technical potential in agribusiness on the basis of developing and realizing organizational and technical projects as a primary element of the purposeful market-oriented activities).  The Department initiated the new subjects: Engineering Management, Energetic Management, Engineering Basics, Technological Processes and Systems Modelling, Management of Projects. Besides, it started training the scientific and pedagogical staff through the post-graduate course on the speciality 03.13.22. “Management  of Projects and Programs” under the supervision of Doctor of Engineering, professor Sydorchuk O.V. and Candidate (Ph D) of Engineering, acting  professor Boyarchuk V.M. Within the outlined school 11 candidate  dissertations (Ph D these) were written and defended  (Tsip Y.e.L.- 2002; Tryhuba A.M.- 2004; Ratushnyy R.T.- 2005; Lub P.M.- 2006; Bashynskyy O.I.- 2006; Mykhalyuk M.A.- 2008; Sydorchuk L.L.- 2008; Tatomyr A.V.- 2009; Rudynets M.V.- 2010; Spichak V.M.- 2010; Sharybura A.O.-2010).

Lach year 1-2 Candidate dissertations are defended. Three Doctoral dissertations are planned for the defence.

Dissertations and the research activities at the Department caused the development of new subjects: Engineering Management, Management of Projects, Energetic Management, Agrarian Service and Software in Agribusiness.

Researching

The Department develops scientific and methodological basics of designing , foundation, functioning  and management of the projects of resource-saving agro-industrial, technological and service systems. The Department’s scholars develop analytical automated systems of scientific and engineering provision of management with industrial projects as well as projects of agricultural production procession and technical service of agrobusiness. The department’s lecturers are members of Ukrainian Association of Management of Projects.  The Department has its scientific students’ club focused on the grounding of projects of the system of agrarian production based on efficient utilization of the resource potential.

Within the last 5 years 4 monographies, 12 schoolbooks and manuals as well as 267 various scientific papers were published.

Teaching

The Department possesses three teaching laboratories with 46 eguipped seals for labs in Life Safety, Labor Safety Basics, Labor Safety in a Given Industry, Industry Safety.  It founded Teaching and Methodological Lab of Engineering Management and Management of Projects eguipped with computering and multimedia means giving the opportunities for holding labs and practicals on Modelling Technological Processes, Engineering Management, Energetic Management, Engineering Basics, Agrarian Service and Software in Agrobusiness, Management of Projects.

The following subjects are lectured at the Department:

-         Technological Processes and Systems Modeling;

-         Agrarian Service and Software in Agrobusiness;

-         Economics and Management Basics;

-         Management of Projects;

-         Life Safety;

-         Labor Safety Basics;

-         Labor Safety in a Given Industry;

-         Civil Defence.

Each year 1-2 school-books and manuals, 40-50 articles and 12-17 teacher editions are published at the Department.

International Links

The Department cooperates with many foreigh universities, i. e. : Pennsylvania State University, Wroclaw University of Environmental and Life Sciences, Wroclaw Natural University, Krakow Tillage University, Latvia University of Agriculture.
